Notice of Adoption of Variation No. 3 of the
Kildare County Development Plan 2023-2029 (as varied)
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Kildare County Council, at a meeting on Monday, 27 April 2026, adopted Variation No. 3 of the Kildare County Development Plan 2023-2029 (as varied).
The reason for Variation No. 3 is to align the County Development Plan with Ministerial Guidelines published in accordance with Section 28 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). The relevant guidelines are:
- NPF Implementation: Housing Growth Requirements – Guidelines for Planning Authorities (2025), which were published to give effect to the National Planning Framework First Review (2025),
- Sustainable Residential Development and Compact Settlements – Guidelines for Planning Authorities (2024).
Notice of Adoption of Variation No. 4 (Landscape Character Assessment)
of the Kildare County Development Plan 2023 – 2029 (as varied)
Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 58 of the Planning and Development Act 2024 (as amended), that Kildare County Council, at a meeting on Monday, 27 April 2026, resolved to make Variation No. 4 (Landscape Character Assessment) of the Kildare County Development Plan 2023 – 2029 (as varied).
Variation No. 4 replaces the Landscape Character Assessment (2004) with the Landscape Character Assessment (2025) carried out in response to Action LR A1 of the County Development Plan.
Copies of the Development Plan as varied are available for inspection as follows:
- Kildare County Council Offices, at the address below from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
